It’s been two weeks since my arrival to my aunt’s house and two weeks since I’ve written anything about the last recipe. And it being Sunday what better way to start a morning that with an awesome breakfast with my aunt. Which ironically was what I was intending to post about yesterday, but just so happens it’s happening today. haha
Anyway, the french toast today my aunt made for breakfast was exquisite! But here’s my recipe for it with a new twist on whipped cream.
- 3 slices of egg bread or white mountain bread (both are perfect for french toast)
- 1 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Whisk egg in a large mixing bowl. Add milk and whisk till mixed well. Once mixed, add sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Let it sit for 2 minutes. While that’s happening, slice bread. As many slices as you prefer. Especially depending on how big the slices of bread are cut.
Dip slices in mixing bowl. Get a skillet or pan, add a bit of butter. Now add the bread slices. About three minutes on each side on medium heat. Place in plate.
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp syrup (any one of your liking)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Add everything and whisk away until small peaks start to form.
Slice at least 3 strawberries, wash first of course, and plate as desired.
